War of the Worlds
A summary can be found HereWar of the worlds was a very interesting movie. Not necessarily your typical alien invasion movie, but still an alien invasion movie. I don’t know if I could necessarily pick out an overtly spiritual aspect in the movie itself. There wasn’t a huge prayer, people didn’t go running to God but there was an interesting point.
The alien’s were unable to be destroyed. Not by missiles, guns or human power. They were defeated by the common cold. I could go into the fact that I have a cold and have had a cold so I can relate to the common cold killing things. The thing I got out of this movie though is how simple things destroy humans. God forgives but isn’t it interesting how simple sin can just tear you apart. We are so indestructible (or at least we think we are), we can be kicked, beaten, brusied, shot, stabbed, get sick…but with physical aliments most of the time we are able to come out of it. Notice I said most am not naive or think humans are indestructible.
I just find it very interesting how sin can tear peoples lives apart. Sin is like the common cold that destroyed the aliens when nothing else could.
